MENA Congress 2016

More than 500 delegates, 101 speakers from 34 countries, 85 exhibitors, and more than 2,000 visitors came together to discuss the future of public transport in the UITP MENA Transport Congress & Exhibition which took place in Dubai from (April 25th -27th 2016).

MENA Congress 2014

Under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, HH Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, and Vice-Chairman of the Executive Council, opened UITP MENA Transport Congress & Exhibition 2014 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The gathering was attended by H.E. Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), H.E. Alain Flausch, Secretary General of the UITP, HE Jassim Saif Ahmed Al Sulaiti, Qatar Minister of Transport, and Managing Director of Mowasalat Company in Qatar, Her Excellency Lina Shabib, Minister of Transport in Jordan, H.E. Peter Hendy, President of the UITP, H.E. Mariam Jumaan,Undersecretary of Ministry of Transport in Bahrain, and a number of government department Directors, as well as 500 participants hailing from 25 countries.

MENA Congress 2012

UITP had a successful 3rd MENA Congress & 1st International Taxi Conference in Abu Dhabi, UAE with the kind support of The Department of Transport under the theme "Integrating Public Transport for the Next Generation." from March 26th to 28th 2012. The event was attended by H.E. Abdulla Rashed Khalaf Al Otaiba, Chairman of the Department of Transport, Alain Flausch Secretary General of the UITP, Dr. Abdul Aziz Al Ohaly Deputy Transport Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Jassim Saif Al-Sulaiti, Chairman and Managing Director, Mowasalat – Doha Qatar and Ousmane Thiam President of the UITP.

MENA Congress 2009

Around 300 delegates from more that 30 countries are participating in the second edition of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Congress & Showcase of the International Association of Public Transport (UITP), inaugurated today in Doha, Qatar. The theme which is being developed over the next three days is ‘Public Transport in the MENA region: turning ideas into reality’.

MENA Congress 2007

World attention turned to MENA’s booming public transport sector and International Association of Public Transport (UITP) to had its first MENA Congress in November 2007. The event was attended by over 250 delegates regional and international and over 40 exhibitors.
